LOCAL AT ITS BEST
Ryan started his career in the kitchen at Carambola, before working at Le Club Chasse et Peche, and Les 400 Coups. He eventually realized he preferred the front of house. Serving and bar-tending at Ludger in St. Henri, after self teaching many aspects of wine he managed a wine bar called Magdalena. Then went on to be the Maitre d’hôtel at Ha in old Montreal and crafted their wine list.
CHEF REID YOUNG
Reid began his professional career at Hambar in the Saint Paul hotel, where he learned how to make homemade made charcuterie, then went on to work at Mercuri under chef Joe Mercuri (formerly of Bronte,) before becoming the chef of Ludger. Having also spent time cooking at Vancouver’s L’Abattoire, and in various places in Australia.
Ludger is where they realized what a great team they made, and when the former owner of Carambola contacted them to take over, they were more than happy and ready to say yes.
